The MSA Latchways® PRD is a lightweight, unobtrusive personal rescue device that is an integrated full body harness system for self-rescue. In the event of a fall the device lowers the person gently to the ground in a controlled descent with a limit of 65 feet. 

The Latchways Personal Rescue Device (Latchways PRD®) is a game-changing integrated harness system that, in the event of a fall, lowers the user to the ground in a controlled descent. Because the device is worn as part of a standard harness, it saves time and cost—since no specialist training is required. Activate the device by simply pulling the parachutestyle rip cord, which allows the spool and its integral braking mechanism to lower the faller gently to safety in less than 30 seconds. The PRD's patented components have been designed to fit neatly into the ‘backpack’ to ensure the worker can safely go about their daily work. The backpack zips onto the harness so that it becomes part of everyday wear for those who work at height. The harness is lightweight and unobtrusive but also robust, ensuring it can withstand the rigours of the harshest working environments.
